With that being said, all the Reds and Anarchos knew of me (and it was easy to find me if they wanted to) but steered clear, not because I profess to be a 'Dr. Rock' but because I'm quite a genial chap and didn't give a hoot about any hostile, in fact many a time it would be me approaching them on their paper sales or whatever. BUT, added to this was the fact that I had the backing of many a 'normal Joe' who would accept the call if I ever needed to, I never did and I don't think I would have in any case, but the Reds/Anarchos knew this and that all I had to do was pop into any pub (remember them?!) and it would have been game on. In fact such was the Red/Anarchos wariness of me/our merry band that local newsagents even stocked NF News, I always made sure to pop in to make sure the proprietors had not been subject to any threats, that they were happy to continue our relationship spoke volumes not only of the respect they had for us but also their confidence that they would not suffer as a consequence. And yes, I am working class from a working class area riddled with SWP and a large student presence.
Indeed, anyone serious who wanted to bump you off isn't going to draw attention to themselves immediately beforehand. Not like nationalists have anything to be ashamed of.
